TECHNICAL INSPECTION: CHANGES FROM OCTOBER 19
Starting October 19, 2026, updated rules for mandatory vehicle technical inspection will take effect in Kazakhstan. Unified digital system Vehicle data and diagnostic results will be recorded in a unified digital system, which will strengthen oversight of the inspection process. Inspection time limits set motorcycles and light trailers (L, O-1): up to 15 minutes; passenger cars (M-1): up to 20 minutes; large and commercial vehicles: up to 30 minutes. Lost your diagnostic card? You will not need to repeat the inspection. The operator must issue a duplicate of a lost or damaged card within 15 minutes, without repeat diagnostics. These changes are intended to make the inspection procedure more transparent and to strengthen oversight of the reliability of its results.
