FINE FOR AN INVISIBLE SOLID LINE

FINE FOR AN INVISIBLE SOLID LINE

You crossed a solid line, but it was faded — will there be a fine? In Kazakhstan, drivers are sometimes penalized for turning across a solid line, even when the marking is barely visible. But it’s not always that straightforward. What you may face: Turning or U-turning across a solid line with entry into the oncoming lane — license suspension for 6 months (Article 596, part 3 of the Administrative Code). But there’s a nuance If the line is: – faded, – poorly visible, – not compliant with national standards — the case can be dismissed (Article 741, part 2 of the Administrative Code). How to prove it? – Take a photo/video of the location. – Preferably with date and geotag. – Submit a complaint via eOtinish with your evidence. If a protocol has already been issued, you have two months to appeal it.
